During my senior year at Sacred Heart University (September 2021 - May 2022), I created a magazine titled, Pio's Paths. I virtually interviewed 10 different SCMA (School of Communication, Media, and the Arts at SHU) Alumni and learned about their career trajectories. I wanted to show the types of real opportunities individuals have obtained with their degrees.

To create an easier design process for myself, I began with multiple draft sketches for different layouts. I decided on 3 different ones and rotated them throughout the magazine. I wanted Pio's Paths to come across as professional, but also approachable and modern. The muted, yet exciting pops of color were chosen for this reason. Additionally, the main sans serif typeface, Bebas Neue, was chosen due to its modern look.
Since the magazine is related to a school within Sacred Heart University, I decided to feature high-quality images of the campus. The cover shows the front of the Martire building, where most of the SCMA classes are held. The back cover shows the back of the Martire building, and the photos found between these pages spotlight other places like West Campus and the Chapel. To continue the casual feel, I included photos from the interviewees to add a personalized touch.
